Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) enthusiasts and fitness buffs alike are in for a huge treat as the world famous UFC Gym has recently landed in the country. Considered the fastest growing sport in the world, MMA has become enormously popular here in the Philippines mainly because of the mega promotion company Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which produces the biggest fights in the sport. Among its biggest superstars is the Irish sensation Conor McGregor, a kickboxing specialist who recently challenged Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in a boxing match but lost via TKO in Round 9.

The UFC is such a big success in the United States that even its UFC Gym business has instantly become a major player in the fitness industry.  And now, the UFC Gym has reached Philippine shores, with an initial five branches opening in 2017.

UFC Gym Philippines will open its first branch within the month of September, in Alabang. Soon to follow will be the branches in Glorietta 4 in Makati, Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, and UP Town Center and Vertis North in Quezon City.

But UFC Gym Philippines also offers a one-of-a-kind fitness gym and vows to be a game-changer in the local fitness landscape through its “Train Different” philosophy. Apart from having state-of-the-art fitness and MMA training equipment, UFC Gym also features trainers that underwent rigorous world-class training provided by the UFC. UFC Gym’s Senior Director of MMA and former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) lightweight champion “Razor” Rob McCullough is in town for a few weeks to oversee the training of all UFC Gym Philippines trainers and coaches.

Moreover, international fitness expert Jeremy Storm will be the full-time VP for Programs to be based here to ensure the continuous upgrade of the gym’s training program. All trainers in the UFC Gym Philippines branches will be well-equipped and knowledgeable in the latest techniques in fitness training for a wide variety of clients that include athletes, young professionals, fitness enthusiasts of all ages and even kids (as young as three years old). Contrary to common impressions about the UFC Gym, it caters to everybody and not just MMA students.

But what really sets apart the UFC Gym from the rest is that it offers regular MMA classes to all members in the different disciplines of the sport – Muay Thai, Boxing, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Wrestling, and Judo among others. Any gym member can access all the different classes without having to pay extra.  The annual membership fee is already inclusive of unlimited functional fitness and MMA classes.

UFC Gym worldwide is a strong advocate of anti-bullying and women empowerment. It also plans to invite in the future UFC superstars to hold demonstrations for its members, which should be a delightful experience for them.  UFC-related events and promotions may also be held in the different UFC Gym Philippines branches.

UFC Gym Philippines aims to open 30 branches nationwide within ten years. Oh and yes, all branches will have an actual UFC Octagon in the facility.
