All out aggression. All-over-your-face strategy. Ultra high risk, regardless of the reward. This has been and will always be the theme of the ex-Cloud9 members, and with four of them in one team again, you can definitely expect more. This is Team NP, definitely the most entertaining team to watch heading to Manila Masters.
Team NP, more so because of its members, have set the benchmark for defining entertainment. Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, Adrian “FATA-“ Trinks, Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling, Johan “pieliedie” Åström were teammates before, and they were known for their hyper aggressive play-style. Well, entertaining in a manner that you’ll never expect what can happen in the game; one minute they’re dominating the lanes, the next you know is that they will tower dive — even fountain dive — the enemy team even when it doesn’t make enough sense.
The thing with EternaLEnVy-based teams, they live and by their sword. They are most often unsuccessful with their aggression, but they still win by overwhelming their opponents. Most of the time, their uber-aggressive antics can mean their demise, especially when they’re holding a lead. However, when they’re way behind, their non-conservative play-style sometimes allow them to take the game back and win by brute force.
They are also a theory-crafting type of team, willing to try out different strategies like Bane, Visage, Night Stalker, and other cheese drafts.
Say what you want about Team NP, but they are still a very intelligent team. EternaLEnVy and FATA- are way up there in terms of mechanical skill. And with a championship support on their support pool (Aui_2000 with TI5 and pieliedie with Shanghai Major), this post-modern Cloud9 team might just make it through in Manila.
