Twitter reacts after Canelo-GGG title bout ruled a draw

Moments after Michael Buffer announced the scorecards of the Gennady Golovkin-Canelo Alvarez middleweight championship superfight, boxing fans – and even several boxing legends – took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the decision, which was officially a split draw.

Most of the tweets were aimed at judge Adalaide Byrd’s head-scratching 118-110 score in favor of Canelo, which meant that GGG won only two rounds on her card, a rather unlikely scenario given the way the longtime middleweight champ from Kazakhstan clearly won several rounds. The two other judges had it closer, with one scoring it a 114-114 draw and the other giving it to Golovkin, 115-113. Triple G still retains his three belts, though, and both fighters said after wards they were open to a rematch.

But it was Byrd, who has submitted several other strange scorecards in the past, and her 118-110 score that was the center of most of Twitter’s activity. Here are some of them:
