The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will open its 43rd season on Sunday, December 17 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
The defending champions San Miguel Beermen begin their quest for a historic fourth straight Philippine Cup title against the Phoenix Fuel Masters on opening day, based on a post on the league’s official Twitter account.
The opening ceremonies are scheduled before that game at 4 p.m.
The PBA, however, only released a partial schedule of the 2018 Philippine Cup with games running from December 17 to 29. The complete schedule will be released in the following days.

Kiefer Ravena, the second pick in the 2017 PBA Draft, will make his professional debut against the Kia Picanto on Wednesday, December 20 — the second game day of the Philippine Cup.
The most anticipated game based on the partial schedule will be the Barangay Ginebra-Magnolia matchup on Christmas Day, December 25 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
Last season, the ‘Manila Clasico’ was also scheduled at the Philippine Arena on Christmas, with Ginebra beating Star, 86-79, in front of an estimated crowd of 23,000 people.
